It’s been my life’s experience that it only takes one person who believes in you to help you reach your goals and fulfill your dreams. It’s truly my hope and motivation to be that “one” for each of our students here at Abbey Road Academy.

There will be a lot of people who don’t believe in your dream and they may even choose not to acknowledge the gifts or talents you possess. That’s ok, because it only takes one person in your corner who sees your potential and wants to help you explore possibilities and develop into the person God created you to be. Because of this understanding, I’ve always loved teaching. I love teachers who take time to invest in their students on a personal level. I love the reward of giving part of yourself to your students in a way that builds them up and moves them forward. Music instruction goes so much further than sight-reading and counting aloud. It’s more than notes and lyrics being sung and played.

Music instruction is truly an investment that will last a lifetime. Music in it’s many styles and genres, has the power to dictate how we celebrate and how we grieve. It’s the soundtrack of our lives and it gives color and expression to our memories.

Abbey Road Academy began with 19 students and I. I taught out of my home and in their homes a couple of nights a week after school. When my son hit pre-school age, I found myself struggling with how to be an involved parent with his schooling with the demands of my schedule at that time. It was a hard decision at first, because I loved my job and I loved my students at Bixby. However, I loved my son more and valued the time needed to take him to school, pick him up and have a little more flexibility to attend his class parties as well as care for our younger son Mason.

So I finished out the school year and resigned to be able to build a little better balance for our boys. The following November with the support of my husband, we opened Abbey Road Academy on Main Street in Jenks! It started with my original 19 students and a couple of guitar students who began with Sam Naifeh. Sam was our first instructor to bring along side us and then the rest is history!

God blessed and grew our little studio to over 200 students within the next 2 years. I’ve been so thankful and humbled to bring on only instructors who I know have positive life examples as well as fantastic musicianship. Each instructor is hand picked from people I knew and sang with personally in churches or in our community or they came highly recommended by trusted musicians or friends I knew personally. I know that as we grow, our circle will need to increase, but I’m very thankful to bring on instructors who have great talent paired with a love for teaching. Most of our instructors are also degreed musicians and all have been highly trained in their instrument of choice.

We care a great deal about our community, so it’s our pleasure to participate in many community events and festivals throughout the year. We support and sponsor our local schools and are dedicated to serving their best interests as well.

Our Story really comes down to Your Story. We want to be the “one” who invests in you musically, relationally and developmentally. We care about the futures of our students and we want to be part of making your dreams come true!
